I love to explore and learn about other cultures, and I find great enjoyment in being immersed in a location that’s not my own. I am always on the go and seeking out new destinations. I visit Las Vegas at least three times per year, and generally visit two countries per year. I became a travel advisor to help others see and do more.
I live in Louisville, Kentucky, but I grew up in a beach town, so most of the locations I love to book are surrounded by water and nature. I especially love to book trips to Latin America and Caribbean countries. I am an explorer of the world, and have been to fourteen countries including: Barcelona, Canada, England, France, Netherlands, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, the Bahamas, and the US Virgin Islands or USVI. My experience has allowed me to become an expert in each destination. I have even been to the Bahamas over 10 times by cruise and air. I am passionate about these destinations because I am an avid foodie, and I love their culture and cuisine. I also love that most of these destinations generally have amazing weather year-round!
As a travel advisor, I aspire to help create adventures that provide memorable moments for my clients. I am not satisfied until we craft the destination and itinerary that you can’t wait to embark on. I love helping a wide range of travelers including solo travelers, first-time travelers, millennial travelers seeking active and adventurous experiences, budget-savvy travelers, and those looking for adult-only all-inclusive cruises and resorts.
To better serve my clients, I am continuously participating in destination and supplier educational courses and webinars to stay informed on the industry. I am proud to be a Certified Travel Advisor (CTA) with the Travel Institute and a Certified Cruise Counselor (CCC) from the Cruise Line Industry Association or CLIA.
As an avid traveler myself, I can recommend several places of interest since I have personally visited them. I also have established relationships in the area with suppliers and tour operators. One year for my birthday, I took 8 friends to St Thomas USVI. Many of them have never left the US mainland nor did they know they did not need a passport to visit the island. Some of them also did not know about flexible payment methods available when you work with an advisor. They appreciated knowing someone knowledgeable was planning the trip every step of the way. I was proud to be able to break down some barriers and myths they had about traveling!
I love helping my clients prepare for the unexpected. Once, I had a client purchase travel insurance and optional baggage protection through me for an international trip. Somehow, their luggage was lost along the way. Once informed, I reached out to my supplier, started the claim on behalf of the client and calmed them down, knowing that updates would be received periodically. They were assured that someone else was handling the issue, so it took pressure away from them, and allowed them to spend their time more freely. They appreciated me handling it, and I was happy that I was able to reunite them with their bags, and even took care of coordinating drop-off to the hotel with the airline.
When I’m not traveling or helping clients plan their dream vacations, I love to run and I participate in five 5Ks a year. I also love concerts, festivals, live events, amusement parks and volunteering for several nonprofit organizations in my community.
